My name is Andrea Secco, I’m a watch enthusiast and a Seiko collector.I hope this website will be useful to all of you who share this passion. This modern re-interpretation of the 1968 Diver’s watch is inspired by Japan’s first hi-beat one-piece Diver’s watch created by Seiko. The seiko prospex Elegance and the Sport line cater to a wider audience who respect the art of traditional Japanese timekeeping, albeit with a modern touch.

Alpinist collection, first launched in 1959 and designed for Japanese ‘Yama-otoko’ mountain men, to be reliable in treacherous terrain, these are part of the Land collection. The next momentous year came in 1964 when the world was introduced to the Grand Seiko Self-Dater. This beautiful timepiece included a calendar function and was water-resistant to 50m—a utilitarian and practical horological offering. Grand Seiko is a brand that has confused budding watch enthusiasts for decades now. While Seiko is famous worldwide for creating a vast range of watches, including affordable pieces that are widely popular, Grand Seiko is a brand with an almost cult-like following in the horological world. To answer that question, it’s important to understand the origins of Seiko, which can be traced back to the Meiji era in Japan (1868 to 1912).

In 1967, the 44GS was the most accurate manually wound 5-beat watch in the world. Its design introduced new standards for proportion, finish, angles, and every other aspect described as the “Grand Seiko Style” that is embodied in every Grand Seiko timepiece that followed. One of the world’s foremost mechanical movements, the culmination of high-precision micro-engineering and the attention to detail of Grand Seiko’s expert watchmakers. The following is a list of watch movements produced by Seiko since the introduction of the modern coding system in the 1960s. By clicking on the name of the movement, you can view its technical information and manuals, when available, along with the watch models and their respective parts lists. Whether you’re searching for a watch that is sleek and elegant or timeless and classic, there’s something for everyone within our range of Seiko watches.

Inspired by Seiko’s association with the measurement of athletic achievement, this exquisite timepiece is part of the first GPS Solar Chronograph Series in the Prospex collection. The essential characteristics of a Grand Seiko—to be precise, beautiful, legible, and easy to use—align with the choice of materials used on its cases, bracelets, and dials. These characteristics illustrate the timelessness and daily versatility of Grand Seiko’s offerings. The textured white Snowflake dial seen on the SBGA211 and SBGA011 (predecessor) is its most talked-about feature, inspired by the snow-covered Hotaka Mountains that surround the Shinshu Watch Studio where the watch is made. Its beautifully textured curved ice blue dial is inspired by the legend of “Omiwatari”, the act of god crossing the frozen Lake Suwa, and is made to mimic the color, feel, and texture of this snow-covered ice.

Traditional titanium has a muted gray appearance; however, Grand Seiko’s High-Intensity Titanium has a much brighter hue. Complemented by Zaratsu mirror polishing, its High-Intensity Titanium offerings stand out in the industry. Echoing its beauty and versatility is a black dial that has a radial fine ridge pattern inspired by the snowy peaks of Mt. Iwate at dusk and features sharp, faceted indexes and hands that are diamond polished. 2020 marked 60 years since the birth of the Grand Seiko; in Japan, 60 years define the full circle of the zodiac cycle. To mark the significance of the new era, we were introduced to two completely new, important, and highly innovative movements. The bands for dressier watches are typically metal and they are referred to as “bracelet” watches.

This watch was chosen as the designated timekeeping piece for the 8th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition. Its aesthetics embrace Japanese design, craftsmanship, and culture, making its watches easily identifiable. It employs manual finishing techniques like Zaratsu polishing that are unique to the brand. Innovation in precision timekeeping has been a lifelong commitment of the watchmaker, allowing it to offer groundbreaking movement technologies. Currently, Grand Seiko utilizes a few different complications in its watch collections.
